If only someone would buy this for me...

I can only dream.

Then I would also need the rest of the set too.

Ctrl+Alt+Chicken

Everyone who knows me knows I love to cook. I also love to watch FoodTV. I have to say, this is far and away the funniest cooking show I have ever watched. I've waited for a while now for this to come out. The wait was worth it. I almost died laughing. I wouldn't recommend this if you're really trying to learn how to cook, but if you want to be entertained then this is a must watch. Download it now and give yourself a well deserved Friday laugh.

Who Needs Functional Specs?

Jason Fried is my new hero. He runs 37Signals and has a great insight on how to do software development. Some say that puts me out of a job, but I think it would just allow me to do more with the time I do have. I've followed some of the things he's talked about for a little while now and every time I read or hear his stuff I'm jealous I can't just follow his lead. Take the time to listen to these opening remarks for SXSW. It was very worth my time. Makes we want to go out and start my own business. Won't be tech related. I have a bigger passion for food and something in that area would be more to my liking. Who knows, someday maybe.

Geocaching

Well, it's been two weekends in a row that Mike has been able to "drag" us out geocaching. My wife discovered it a few months back and the idea never really caught on with me as we didn't have a GPS to use. Mike fixed that a couple of weeks ago and it appears to be a new found hobby in our house. The little one is getting to be quite the cacher as he seems to always want to navigate on our trips. He does quite well too.
It's been tons of fun and I think motivates us to get out and enjoy the wonderful area we live in here in North Idaho. So, next thing to do is to find a GPS to buy (actively searching as we speak) and to get out there and find some more caches.
It will also be great for me to find some new places to do some photography as I've already racked up a few new pics on Flickr.

Check out our Geocache profile to see where we've been. Tons of fun.

Quick Afternoon Pic

Was walking back to my desk at work and couldn't help but take a quick pic of these poor little guys freezing in the snow bank. Hopefully Spring is coming so they don't have to suffer this much.

Bigs and Littles

Yesterday my little bro decided to become a big brother. With that I learned today that he will become a "Big" and will look after a "Little". That's Big Brother, Big Sister lingo for those that didn't know (I didn't, so don't feel bad).
For those of you that know Mike, he's not that big on little kids. I should know. It took him until both of my kids were walking and running before he would have anything to do with them. I don't blame him. Kid's are scary, even more so when they're not yours. So, for Mike this is a big deal for him to be taking this step.
It's hard to watch him grow up. I grew up way too fast due to circumstances in my life, but he's always been that free spirit of a little brother to me. To be honest, sometimes I wish I was able to be that way. But, over the last couple of years he's done some growing up. He's moved away from home, gotten married, started a new job, and built a house. Everyone keeps asking him when are the kid's coming. His normal response is something like, "Why would I subject myself to all of that when there are too many people on the planet already". I know he doesn't mean it. He may not be ready for kids now, or ever for that matter. That's just the way some people are and that's OK. I know having kids is tough, but they do bring such little moments of joy that make it all worth while. He may not be ready, but I'm proud to see that he's taking an interest in some child's life as he does have a lot to share.
I know I've been the big brother for all this time and I hope I've passed on some sort of wisdom to my little bro. Something he may find of value in his quest to be a big brother. I know some little bro is waiting for someone fun, but also someone that can share the wisdom of being older and wiser. Good luck little bro. I'm sure you'll make a fine Big.

A Pic For Today

Had fun last night with some tulips. Thought I would share.

**Update: Thanks to the wonderfully nice gesture of my bro, I now have my very own Pro Flickr account. Thanks bro. I hope to make you proud.
